Christina Aguilera To Perform At The AMA Awards

Los Angeles, CA - Dick Clark Productions announced that Christina Aguilera will perform at the 2010 “American Music Awards®.” Christina’s performance will feature a live number from her upcoming film Burlesque, which will be released by Screen Gems, a division of Sony Pictures, on November 24th. She will join other previously announced acts including Bon Jovi, P!nk and Usher. The show will broadcast live from the Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE on SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 21st (8:00-11:00 p.m. ET/PT) on ABC.

AMA producer Larry Klein stated, “Christina is known for her powerful and engaging performances. We are looking forward to her Burlesque number which will showcase moments from one of the most anticipated films of the season.”

The day after news of her separationfrom husband Jordan Bratman broke last week, Christina Aguilera opened up about her split. Check out what the 29-year-old singer told Redbook (she’ll appear on the December cover):

On the split: “It’s not easy and there have been a lot of tears and sadness. It’s impossible to redefine yourself and your life overnight. Thankfully, I have my mom and a small group of close friends who are there for me 24/7 and whom I can trust and depend on. On days when it feels impossible to even get out of bed, much less function as a mother, their support and encouragement have kept me moving forward.”

On the rumors of infidelity on both sides: “Out of respect for my husband, I prefer to keep the specifics private. Right now, I’m just trying to figure out how to make it through each day.”

On her focus during this rough time: “Thankfully, I have [my 2-year-old son] Max to keep me on a sane path. His needs and happiness are my top priorities, and my biggest concern is to protect him and make him feel safe.”

Christina And Jordan Rush Into Emergency Room

Only a few days before she announced her divorce to Jordan Bratman, Christina Aguilera showed up to a Los Angeles emergency room with her soon-to-be ex.

"Christina was bleeding from her mouth and had a bit of a busted lip," claims a witness at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. "Jordan told the nurses she had fallen down."

She had "bumps and red bruises" on her bloodied lip, but she was taken care of immediately.

"Shortly after they arrived to Cedars, Christina's 'private surgeon' arrived to put a few stitches in her lip," added the source.

Ouch!
